NJ State Triathlon Honors Triathlon Great

NJ State Triathlon creates the Doug Clark Memorial Legacy

This year’s race will be dedicated to Doug Clark. An incredible triathlete, inspirational coach and humble man.

This past December we lost an icon in the triathlon community, Doug Clark. The Triathlon Bloke's smiling face not only crossed the finish line each year but he won several years and if he didn't win he was in the top 3 overall.

This year we will honor Doug by starting the Doug Clark Memorial Legacy. An honor that will be given to a man and woman who personify the qualities of Doug both as a man and as the incredible triathlete and coach he was.

He was the positive energy of the NJ State Triathlon. So much so that on the 10th Anniversary, the first one Doug could not race, we had to cancel the sprint for the first time in 10 years..it was said God was not happy our triathlon bloke was not racing that year.

Anyone who knew Doug will tell you he was always smiling, always positive, always cheering even his fiercest competitors on and most of all always humble.

We challenge you this year to Do What Doug Would Do: Bring you’re “A” Game. Inspire Others. Thank a Volunteer Have Fun! and most of all, in the words he said so often to his daughter Ellie, “Be Awesome”.

Congratulations to the 2017 Recipients of the Doug Clark Memorial Award

The 2017 race will personify Doug Clark and his inspirational nature.

Do What Doug Would Do Booth

Race weekend please be sure to visit the DWDWD Legacy booth and help us raise funds for his wife Hillary and lovely daughter Ellie.

The Clark Cup

We are asking the winning TEAM UP teams to donate their prize money this year to the fund. Each team will be given a crystal Clark Cup that we will drink a celebratory toast in Doug's honor.

If you would like to be a part of this incredible race weekend you can still register for the sprint distance. The Olympic is sold out.
