Get To Training

Train now to finish strong at the New Jersey State Triathlon! Here you will find all the endurance resources including open water swim training, clean eating, injury prevention and the latest in cool race gear and trends.

Marathon training is in full swing.  Twitter and Facebook are jammed packed with messages announcing runs spanning from 5 miles to 20 miles.  Regardless of how many miles you are logging these days, each runner has their own preference on whether they like to run alone or with others.  Some runners enjoy running solo.  They find peace and quiet in their runs and see it as a time where they can be alone with their thoughts or listen to music or a book on tape.
Have you ever gotten to that point in your training where you feel you are in a running rut? You feel like you have been training for weeks & need a break? I’ve definitely been there! It’s important to listen to your body if it’s telling you it needs some time off but it’s also key to stay motivated & keep your eyes on the prize {at the finish line}.
Wow!  Monday was a blast around here.  As we mentioned earlier in the week, Monday was opening day to register for the Unite Half Marathon.  In honor of the event, we hosted a huge promotion where we drew 25 names each hour out of registered participants.  Those 25 chosen runners were refunded part of their registration fee so that the cost of the Unite Half Marathon was only $17.66.  It doesn’t get much better than that! We had a blast drawing names and were ecstatic about all the early registrations! Congratulations to all 150 lucky winners!  We know it is early, but we are getting excited for race day already.  Is anyone else itching to run?  April will be here before we know it!
Sometimes I am a Yogi. Sometimes I am a Runner. But most of the time, I am both. Pounding the pavement multiple times a week for training runs can take a serious toll on the body. No matter what big race I am training for, I always make time for yoga, Pilates and strength training in my weekly routine because I know my body needs it!
The Unite Half Marathon at Rutgers University takes place on April 13, 2014 at the Rutgers New Brunswick Campus in New Jersey.  Registration is now open and your registration fee for the half marathon could be only  $17.66. YES PLEASE! Are you hooked yet – the details are below:
As it gets closer and closer to race day, I get more and more excited about getting to the start line, pounding the pavement for miles and crossing that finish line with a massive smile on my face. I get super excited before each and every race day that comes along – each one is so different and no mile run is ever the same.
