I AM the Perfect 10

Last week we had the special opportunity to host the largest all-women’s race in New Jersey to date.  The weekend was amazing, but overall we were in awe of the women who came out this weekend and showed us what it meant to be a Perfect 10.   We thank everyone for their participation, enthusiasm, and spirit that made this weekend, well, perfect.

From the beginning of the weekend, the youngest participants in the event showed us all just exactly what it meant to be a Perfect 10.  By participating in a daughter dash, women of all ages hit the ground running.  The girls were determined and set the vibe for the weekend.

Anything is possible! We are the Perfect 10!

The expo was bustling all day Saturday.  The New Jersey Running Company, our main sponsor for the race, provided our women with great shopping options and advice when needed.  There were also massages and hair stylists, many of the women took to getting their hair braided in every which way (glitter and ribbons galore) to get pumped up for the big day.  After lunch, a fashion show began.  Pairs of women of all ages, who had previously entered a contest to be part of the show, strutted down the runway in flawless Perfect 10 style.  Even better for those watching, we got a glimpse of some of the newest running gear.

Sunday was everything we imagined it to be and much, much more!  The power and energy in the air was inspiring.  As the women waited to get going, we had ladies dancing, cheering, and rocking all over the place.  To make things even better, they were dressed to the nines in running skirts, tutus, and as super heroes!  As our first wave of runners left for the 10-mile course, the excitement heightened.  The course enabled women to see each other from all sides.  For example, if you were on Mile 1, running towards you on the other side of the road were women at Mile 3.  We loved how women yelled for, waved at, cheered each other on, and gave out high fives.  Everyone was a family for this race!  As the second wave for the 5k started, things were no different – major enthusiasm, happiness, and excitement.  No one could hold back.  Everyone showed how they were indeed the Perfect 10.

There is so much more to say.  So much more to share, it is hard to put into words the magic of last Sunday.  Thank you so much for everyone that participated.  We hope to have you next year, October 26, 2014 and all new-comers are welcome as well.  Registration opens on April 1, 2014, we will see you there!
