The race takes place on the beautiful, historic New Brunswick Campus of Rutgers University. The course goes through the several campuses offering great scenic views.
Join the running fun on Sunday, April 1th for a racing event that will go down in history! Not ready for 13.1? Get your buddy together for the 8K race, but don’t miss this event.
This course is 13.1 miles of collegiate beauty that will take your breath away. Rutgers University is one of the oldest, largest and most beautiful campuses in the country. The UNITE Half Marathon at Rutgers does indeed UNITE runners of all abilities from elite to novice.
Enjoy the drumlines at start and finish and local musicians throughout the course while getting cheered on by Fraternities and University clubs. The point to point route passes by the recently renovated Rutgers Stadium, historic College Ave. Gym and finishes down College Avenue to thousands of fans!
- Flat and Fast Course (okay we think it is basically flat except for that one climb at mile 11 but then it is downhill to finish).
- Aid Stations featuring gatorade, water and Hammer gel are located about every mile.
- Port O Potties located along the course.
- Incredible, energetic volunteers including fraternities, sororities and lots of support staff.
||Course Time Limits & Rules
After March 15th all entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
Race numbers are required to participate - no bandits please.
All participants must sign a UNITE Half Marathon waiver form.
You must be at least 13 years old to participate.
You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge.
You must show photo ID to receive your race number and timing tag.
Coaches, baby-joggers, bikes, dogs, in-line skates, skateboards or dogs will not be allowed on the course.
If you attempt to sell your race number, you may be banned from future CGI Racing events for three years.
- Special Needs Athletes Rules & Requests
You must be able to complete the half marathon within 3.5 hours of the Official half marathon start (gun time, not chip time). Please note – this is gun time, not chip time. We have factored in the time it will take for the last corrals to cross the start line. Please plan your training accordingly.
Runners need to maintain a 15 min/ mile pace and those not reaching the mile marks below may be redirected at those points to keep them in line with our necessary timeline:
6.5 miles by 1 hour, 50 minutes
9.25 miles by 2 hours, 37 minutes
9.5 miles by 2 hours, 41 minutes
11.75 miles by 3 hours, 20 minutes
Those runners who decide to remain with the original course need to be aware that the course will be open to traffic at this time and that runners after these times will need to observe all traffic laws. Course directional signage may be taken down after these times and water stops will begin to be broken down, thus water may not be available.
