OFFICIAL RUTGERS TRAINING TEAM

Train with the Official Rutgers Training Team

RU in Training is a group of students/faculty/staff from Rutgers University who are training together as a team for the Unite Half Marathon. 

Receive coaching, support, and a running community to help you complete your goal of running a half marathon. This is a great opportunity for those who have never raced before as well as experienced runners looking to improve their time.  All runners receive an individualized training plan, weekly talks on important topics for runners such as stretching, properly fueling your body while running, wearing proper sneakers and many others, and will get to run with a group.  Most of our runs will cover parts of the Unite Half Marathon course so you will be familiar with the course on Race Day. The running class begins Tuesday, January 29th and will meet every Tuesday. We will provide some informal runs on Fridays as well.

The Unite Half Marathon has hundreds of teams from local running and triathlon clubs to all women’s fitness groups to corporate teams, so let us know where you’re located and we’ll hook you up with other great people working towards the same goal - Have Fun and Finish Strong! ON COURSE PREVIEW AND TRAINING RUNS

Raritan Valley Road Runners will host course preview and training runs on the Unite Half Marathon Course every Saturday February 23rd – April 6th at 9 a.m. 

  • Start:.  Johnson Park – Grove 2 (by the zoo!) - Piscataway, NJ
  • Finish: This is a looped course that returns to the original start area.
  • Parking:  Ample parking available with an overflow lot 100 yards away, if needed.

Here’s your chance to feel out the course and run with super fun and experienced runners from the club. 

You can join them just once or every Saturday but if you run more than twice with the club you will need to join the club so you are properly insured on all the runs. The membership fee is nominal and this group offers you tons of running opportunities and benefits that far outweigh the membership fee.

PACE TEAMS

Wouldn’t it be great to not only make your finish time goal but to beat it! Well let the ETA PACE TEAM help you beat your goal.

ETA Coach Pace Teams

We're pleased to have the ETA Coach Pace Team join us again this year as the "official" Pace Team of the Unite Half Marathon. They are looking forward to helping runners of all abilities achieve their half marathon goals.


It's simple! Each Pace Leader will run even splits throughout the race and cross the line within two minutes of your goal finishing time. During the race, your PTL’s will also remind you to eat and drink, as well as offer words of encouragement. Did we mention the shout-outs you’ll get from the Cheer Zones!


No need to pre-register. All you have to do is line up behind your goal pace time in the race corral. Pace Team Leaders are indicated with signage and costumes so they are super easy to spot.
